Six Hundred

Yesterday we got to take an awesome field trip with friends to Six Hundred, a local pizzeria.

First off, this place has amazing pizza and even better Garlic Knots (pizza dough tied in knots, baked, and coated in garlic butter...YUM!).

The manager of this restaurant was kind enough to give our kids a tour of the kitchen and see how they make a pizza from start to finish.

My kids were impressed with the stand mixer that weighed as much as a car and hit the dough with the force of a semi-truck.

They were also impressed with the guy throwing the pizza dough in the air.  When the dough got a hole in the middle, he put it around Braden's neck.
Then they each got to make their own pizza, with whatever toppings they wanted.
Maddie was in heaven...and she was listening closely for any pizza-making hints.  She picked up on a few! We've been working toward a post for Tastes of Lizzy T on how to make a great  homemade pizza, so we may try out a few of the ideas we picked up.

It's called Six Hundred because their brick ovens cook the pizza at 600 degrees.
The staff here was more than accommodating to our little group.  They were friendly, explained everything very well, and were on top of serving the kids anything they wanted!

It was a great end to the school year!
