Braden's soccer season started out really rough. He has an absolutely terrible team. And I mean terrible. They've lost every game. I don't know that they've even scored a goal. And they loose by at least 7 goals each game.
At the beginning of the season, Braden was so depressed after every game. He truly hated it. We had a good talk with him about 1/3 of the way through and assured him that we really didn't care if he won. Winning was not the point. We wanted him to be active, have fun and do his best. He needed this pep talk and reminder that he was not letting us down and he's done great since. His team still stinks, but his attitude is so much better. Last game, he actually got to play forward and had two shots on the goal. Those were the only shots on our goal for our whole team. Yep...we're that bad!
He's a good little soccer player when he is in the right mindset. He has no fear and is really agressive.
He's got a big decision next year as he decides whether to continue on in soccer for two more years or to switch to XC. He sees how much fun Maddie has been having, so he's leaning towards running. He's proud of himself for getting down to an 8 1/2 minute mile over the past few weeks. He's quite a motivated little runner right now!
It would be much easier on our schedule if he and Maddie were doing the same sport. We're trying our hardest not to sway him either way, but we're secretly hoping he goes for the XC!
