As I suspected, the ice came in and spoiled Spirit Week. The good thing about this day off was that Matt had off, too! It is a great perk of his job. Here is a picture of the 1/4" ice that we got Monday night:
The weather was calm most of the day, but the freezing rain started up again at about 5pm. The kids have already received their call for a day off tomorrow, but Matt is still anxiously awaiting his news!
We had a good day at home together, although Kinslee ended up with a fever and the stomach flu. Thankfully she seems on the mend tonight.
Matt spent the day finishing up the electric in the basement. We've been working on getting our basement complete and are anxiously awaiting our room being built in next week. Besides the room, we'll finally have a ceiling and the woodwork done!
Here is the pile of some of the supplies. The men at Home Depot seriously know Matt by name and ask how his project is going!
Matt wiring the electrical panel. When the camera flashed he jumped a mile...evidently flashes of light when you are working on electric are not a good thing!
One of my projects for the day was to organize the bookshelf. It doesn't look perfect, but looks better than it did and now there is a method to the madness.
Maddie made us brownies....Braden is working on his latest project of a popsicle stick rocket ship, and Kinslee laid around most of the day.
I told Matt that tomorrow I was going to brave the elements and get some pictures of the ice...it looks so pretty on the trees!
