Over 5 years ago, the first spring that we were in Springfield, mom bought us caterpillars to raise into butterflies. The kids remember this although they were little. We made sure that caterpillars were on our curriculum order for school this year! Although I never got around to taking pictures of the stages of metamorphosis, here they are letting their recently hatched butterflies go free.
We had 5 hatch and one died. Another had issues with it's wing. It is a great hands-on project though and I know the kids will remember this as we talk about life cycles in science soon!
So cool! Can you come homeschool me, too? :) You all have way more fun during your day than I do!
