Wednesday rains gave way to 75 and sunny on Thursday. Perfect temps for a trip to Williamsburg! This was an off season school day, so it was great that the kids basically had the attention of the characters in the shops and they felt free to ask any questions they wished.
Braden in the Bailiff's box at the courthouse. George Washington was actually in this courthouse!
Kinslee liked the weaving shop.
Braden and Kinslee were exhausted by midday.
Their favorite stop seemed to be the silversmith. They had so many questions about all the different tools they saw!
They were a little unsure of the ladies in the wig shop who asked if they were ready to shave their heads to have their wigs fitted:)
Braden in the governor's chair at the Capitol building!
Braden in jail....on the toilet:)
Maddie playing a harpsichord. She was too shy to go all out playing her jazzy "Jesus Loves Me" song, but this was especially neat to see since while studying sound the previous week, we talked about harpsichords.
I was a little concerned while we were at Williamsburg that the kids were not enjoying themselves. It was a lot of walking between buildings. During dinner with Matt, however, I was happy to hear them spill out everything they learned and what their favorite things were.
