This past weekend was the Air Force Marathon, and our third time to run the 10K. Last year we added Maddie to the run. This year we hoped to all run. Kinslee trained with us up until the Monday night before the race.
That Monday, we ran five miles and immediately after she had a headache that turned into a migraine. She was miserable until she finally threw up and fell asleep. In the morning she was fine! We decided that since she still had a mile to add to the run, we'd let her bow out of the race. It wasn't worth it for us to push her. She was completely fine with the idea of a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
Matt, Maddie, Braden and I woke up early Saturday morning and headed out to join the 15,000 other runners.
Maddie and Braden's bright and cheery faces, ready to run!
The official plane of the race was the B-2 Spirit. Braden (and Matt) were so excited about seeing this! It was quite an awesome sight.
It looked like a piece of origami flying in the air!
The parachuters at about mile 4 are always a welcome distraction.
And we finished!! Look at those smiles! Maddie and Braden wore their medals the whole day and got several congratulatory comments.
We look a little more tired than the kids, but we were still happy and feeling good:)
Matt and I would love to try the half marathon next year, but we really want the kids to run the 10K again. We register on January 1st, so we have until then to decide!
