Ice Skating

We put aside our roller skates yesterday and went ice skating!  Some of the charter school families met at the ice arena for an afternoon of skating.  Maddie, Braden and Kinslee did fairly well with this for their first time.  Braden fell a lot and ended up with a serious bruise on his arm and leg, but that falling was mostly due to his lack of fear. He put one skate on the ice and the next thing I know, he was in the middle of the rink skating like crazy!
Kinslee, who hates to fail at anything, had a great attitude about the few spills she took. No tears!
She had a friend from her class at the rink. The two girls (or at least Kinslee) talked non-stop as they skated around and around!

Maddie was much more careful about things, but she did great and only took one or two tumbles. By the end she was getting pretty brave.
Braden was exhausted and in pain with about 30 minutes left to skate. Not wanting to give up, he grabbed the buckets and skated around with some extra support.

Ice skating was a hit. They are already asking me when we can go back!

  1. Looks like fun! It's been forever since I've been ice skating.
