My Gardener

We've enjoyed having a small garden the past few years. There's nothing like tomatoes fresh from your own garden!

This year, we've broken the news to the kids that we are not putting up the pool. Instead, we're going to make our garden twice as big as previous years.

Maddie is the one interested in gardening and wanted to start everything from seed this year.  She worked hard to get all of the seeds planted the past few weeks and is excited that we've got sprouts on about half of them so far. I'm hoping she's just as excited about weeding and caring for the garden when it is time:)

We're trying some new things this year: onions, french onions, lettuce, cilantro, basil, carrots, pie pumpkins, and green beans, along with our standard cucumbers, peppers, spaghetti squash and tomatoes.

Can't wait for that fresh produce!
