On day 4, Thursday, we woke the kids up early so they could see one of the beautiful sunrises. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and the sun was hidden. The kids didn't mind though, since they got their hot chocolate!
At Belize you have to anchor 6 miles out because of the reef system. You take a tender boat in to port. It was hot and sunny that day and was hard to get the kids to look at the camera. But they were loving it!
Coming in to Belize City. We read online that Belize City is not known to be the safest. They recommend you not exploring on your own. We had hoped to do an excursion here, but again, we couldn't find one that we were all that excited about. The thing to do was cave tubing, but the caves were flooded, so that was out.
For the most part, we stayed in the port. There were armed guards at the gate. At one point, I think we got outside the gate. We walked into the Fort Street Plaza shown here. Everyone was trying to sell us their excursion, but a simple they were not too pushy. We didn't stay out long. We basically walked the shop and took the tender boat back to the ship. I think we were already getting worn out. That is one of the down sides to taking a longer cruise and going further south. You're worn out by the time your port days come!
The sun was so warm that day.
I forget what we did back on the boat that afternoon. A few of the days we took naps or went to the exercise room. But mostly we spent time at the water park until it was time to clean up for dinner. There were two formal nights. This night was our second one. It was so much fun to get cleaned up and dressed up!
When Matt is behind the camera, you do silly poses. He wanted all of us girls looking out to the ocean with thoughtful looks :)
Ok, when Matt is in pictures, you get silly poses:)
Kinslee's French braid that I was so proud of! I need to practice this more!
All of us after dinner. We're a little red, as you can see. What you can't see is that the girls were fighting right before this picture was taken. And as soon as the picture was snapped, we went to bed.
