Museum of Natural History

Thursday was our last sight-seeing day.  Although it was cooler and rainy, the kids were game for heading to the Museum of Natural History. I am so glad we did this! This was a great field trip after just completing a unit on animals for science.
We ate lunch before we went in to the museum. Yes, we look like a homeless family sitting and eating lunch!

The kids got to hold an African millipede.  We just studied millipedes and centipedes about 2 weeks ago. The kids remembered their myriapod facts.  It was definitely one of those "Whew...they actually learned and retained something I taught them" moments. :)

After the history museum, we headed to the Archives to see the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence.  Thanks to Mom for reminding me of this important thing to see! The kids didn't act super thrilled to see it, but  now as they learn more about them, they will remember that they did in fact see it in person!
